Abstract
Geriatric population and evaluation of hearing as distinct from other age groups to show
different approaches of doctors is a condition. In this special situation occurs frequently
seen in patients with perceptual disorders and other systemic diseases may play a role.
In elderly patients, and this level of hearing to determine the level of routine audiological tests
used primarily affecting the central nervous system affecting the causes are many. Given these
reasons, the audiological evaluation results obtained are different. Analysis of the hearing
problems of the geriatric age group will ensure there is no special audiological tests. For these
reasons, patients of advanced age-related hearing problems and treatment options to be introduced
properly requires a multidisciplinary medical evaluation.

Geriyatrik Hastalarda İşitmenin Değerlendirilmesi

Özet
Geriyatrik popülasyonda işitmenin değerlendirilmesi diğer yaş gruplarından farklı olarak hekimin
farklı yaklaşım göstermesi gereken bir durumdur. Bu özel durumun oluşmasında hastalarda
sıklıkla görülen algısal bozukluklar ve eşlik eden sistemik hastalıklar rol oynar.
İleri yaş hastalarda işitme seviyesini ve bu seviyeyi tespit etmede kullanılan rutin odyolojik
test sonuçlarını etkileyen başta santral sinir sistemini etkileyen birçok neden vardır. Bu nedenler
göz önüne alındığında elde edilen odyolojik değerlendirme sonuçları farklılık göstermektedir.
Geriatrik yaş grubunun işitme problemlerinin analiz edilmesini sağlayacak özel odyolojik testler
yoktur. Bu nedenlerle ileri yaştaki hastaların işitme ile ilgili problemlerinin ve tedavi seçeneklerinin
doğru şekilde ortaya konulması disiplinlerarası bir tıbbi değerlendirmeyi gerektirir.
